⛔ Horse Show Entries Are Now Closed

Thank you to all competitors! Advance online entries for the Horse Section are now closed. We look forward to seeing you all at Mere Meadow!

Each ring’s classes start at 10.00 am with the ever-popular Fancy Dress Parade during the afternoon in the James Du Pavey Display Ring.

All competitors MUST have their Horse or Pony Passport ready for inspection if requested and vaccinations MUST be up to date.

Competitors are advised to arrive early as slow traffic is expected entering the show ground. Classes will not be delayed for late arrivals.

Due to the recent outbreak of Equine Influenza in the local area, all horses and ponies must be fully vaccinated in order to compete at this event.

Competitors must present their horse's or pony's passport, including proof of a valid Equine vaccination, when collecting their competitor number.

Failure to produce a passport with valid vaccination records will result in the competitor being refused entry to the competition and asked to leave the event. No refunds will be given to competitors who fail to provide the required documentation.

Equine Welfare
Welfare is of paramount importance and all riders should be of an appropriate size and weight for the horse/pony being ridden, anywhere on the showground. The Committee reserves the right to take further action against any competitor or exhibitor whose animal is being ridden by anyone whose size or weight compromises the welfare of the horse/pony being ridden; this would be based on the recommendations of the on-site veterinary team, who will use the 20% ratio as a guideline (this means the combined weight of rider plus their saddle should be less than 20% of the animal’s weight). This would be based on a relatively fit, healthy animal, as an overweight animal is also a welfare concern.
