The Mavericks Wild West Show Team

Who are the Mavericks?
We are a historical reenactment group dedicated to portraying life in the American West following the Civil War (1861–1865). From 1865 onward began the era often known as the Wild West. Our camps recreate scenes of pioneer and Native American life, complete with tents, tipis, and authentic equipment used for daily survival on the frontier. Visitors are welcome to stroll through camp, ask questions, and satisfy their curiosity. Most of the time, you’ll find a peaceful settlement, with people going about their daily routines and working to make a living.

A Little History
Before the Civil War, men, women, and children journeyed westward in search of opportunity and a better life. They built towns, raised livestock, farmed the land, and created hopeful communities. Then came the war.

We portray what followed.

For many, the conflict took everything. Some rebuilt their lives through determination and hard work—but others, having lost hope, turned to rustling, gambling, theft, violence, and lawlessness. When trouble rides into camp, calm can turn to chaos in an instant.

Our daily shows bring these dramatic moments to life, giving you a glimpse into the harsh and unpredictable realities faced by those living in that turbulent time.

So… keep your wits about you… things on the frontier are not always what they seem

They'll be Performing 2 shows at Betley Show (Sat 1st Aug) and 2 shows at Music Motors & More (Sun 2nd Aug)
